Prenatal Smoothie for Healthy Pregnancy

A woman's body requires additional nutrients during pregnancy that women do not usually need when they are not pregnant. During pregnancy, the body becomes depleted in iron, folate, vitamin C and fiber, and it is important to consume these essential nutrients  for the baby's health as well as her own. 

This smoothie is a simple and versatile way to ensure nutrient needs are met, and overall health is being maintained during pregnancy. All you need is a blender!

 

 

Ingredients:

  • Spinach, Kale or other dark, leafy green 

  • Pineapple chunks

  • Low-fat Kifer

  • Avocado

  • Lemon

Preparation:

  • Tear dark leafy green of choice into small pieces and place in blender

  • Add pineapple chunks and avocado to leafy greens

  • Place Kifer in blender with other ingredients

  • Squeeze lemon on top of all ingredients and blend together 

  • Serve and enjoy!
