Living in Italian: Swiss Chard

Italians treat their veggies well-- they are the stars of the table! Try using sardines to flavor your leafy greens Italian Style! Remember: if you treat your veggies well, they'll treat you well!

 

Swiss Chard

 

Ingredients:

  • Swiss Chard (or any leafy green)

  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil

  • Garlic

  • Sardines

  • Lemon Juice

  • Pepperoncino

Preparation:

  1. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add garlic and sardines to start the base of the greens. 

  2. Roughly chop swiss chard leaves and stems.

  3. Add to pan and quickly saute until slightly wilted and tender. Add salt and pepperoncino to taste.

  4. Squeeze lemon juice over top, and serve!
