Top 5 Pizzerias in NYC

September 21, 2016

Some days there is no better treat than a fresh slice of Pizza- and we want you to have it! Having tasted many NYC pizzas over the years, we’ve had plenty of time to find our favorites. We've featured our Top 5 Pizzas before (here), but how can you choose just 5 in NYC? Keep reading below to see our go-to spots for a great slice!

San Matteo

San Matteo Pizza is a brick oven pizzeria with two locations on the Upper East Side. They offer a menu of over 20 different red and white pies, all cooked fresh in a brick oven that you can see from your seat. In addition to pizza, they also offer classic Italian appetizers, calzones and paninis. If you want a classic pie, we recommend you try the margherita, but if you’re in the mood for something new we suggest the tartufata

Little Italy

Little Italy Pizza is our favorite Pizzeria for a grab-and-go slice. Like any classic pizzeria, they have many options to choose from which they heat up before serving. The pizza is perfectly crispy when it is delivered to you, and it tastes like it was made just for you. Little Italy has multiple locations around the city, and can be delivered for the perfect movie night in!

John’s Pizza Time Square

John’s Pizzeria in Times Square is a great place to take visiting guests who are eager to try “New York Pizza”. In addition to the amazing pizza, which is made to order in a coal burning brick oven, John’s has a really cool atmosphere. This particular location is inside of an old church, which was abandoned before becoming a pizzeria in 1997.

Otto

Otto is our favorite place to go when we want to get dressed up, and eat pizza! Otto is owned by Italian Chef Mario Batali, and is known for its cured meats, but they also serve many salad dishes so you can get your veggie intake for the day! The restaurant has two sides: one more formal space, and one area that is more relaxed- but you can order from either side so grab a seat and enjoy!

Artichoke Pizza

Artichoke Pizza is our go to treat-meal. Although there are a few locations in the city, locals from all boroughs can tell you how great the pizza is. Since these pies have thick crust and heavy toppings we don’t recommend you eat them often, but we do suggest you treat yourself to a bite once in a while. Next time you have a long day, top it off with their classic spinach artichoke slice or crab slice!
