Top 4 Mexican Restaurants in NYC!

February 16, 2016

One of my favorite things to do is explore restaurants and cafes of various cuisines.  It is a fun and delicious way to understand other cultures.  This weeks edition will be focusing on Mexican food!  From casual to more upscale, Mexican cuisine is delicious anywhere!

Ponche | 420 W 49th St. New York, NY

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Hell’s Kitchen!  I was recently in Tulum, Mexico eating fish tacos that tasted almost exactly like Ponche’s!  This is a small family run restaurant and I can almost guarantee you will enjoy everything you eat here!  Bonus, It’s BYOB!

Toloache | 251 W 50th St. New York, NY

If you’re looking for a more upscale dining experience with amazing Mexican food, check out Toloache!  It is conveniently located in the theater district, making it a great option pre or post theater!  Below are their delicious chilaquiles!

Taqueria St. Marks Place | 79 St. Marks Pl New York, NY

It’s hard not to love the outside and inside decor of this taqueria!  This place is a hit with the locals and is known for it’s pork tacos.

Cafe Ollin |  339 E 108th St. New York, NY

If you find yourself in East Harlem, you need to eat at Cafe Ollin.  Like the other restaurants on this list this is real authentic Mexican food featuring tongue tacos, spicy pork tacos, pozole, they have it all
