Romancing in NYC (Valentine's Day Ideas)

Still need last minute plans for Valentine’s day? I’ve got you covered! I’ve snooped around the city to find some ideal places to spend the day, have a little fun, and of course great eats!

Valentines at Bar 54.jpg

With its cozy couches, intimate lighting and breathtaking views of New York City, Hyatt Times Square’s rooftop Bar 54 has curated a romantic evening that’ll impress and tantalize your taste buds. For $39 and accompanied with a single long stemmed rose, executive Chef Nick Pelliccione presents a Valentine’s Day Aperitif (Oysters with Beet crème & dill) and a Dessert Special (adorablely pink macarons) featuring just enough aphrodisiacs to set the mood.

The Grand Central Oyster Bar in Park Slope has created a special menu for Valentine’s Day weekend with nearly 50 aphrodisiac-infused options to take the night in the right direction! Starting with the obvious, you can choose from a selection of 10 oysters and then move on to the accompanying menu with dozens of mood-enhancing ingredients such as Basil (said to stimulate the sex drive and boost fertility); Pomegranates (filled with antioxidants which promote blood flow); Asparagus and Avocado (both high in Vitamin E which can increase hormone production, as well as stimulate sexual responses), among plenty of others!

Lucky for New Yorkers, Valentine’s day falls on Saturday which also happens to be day one of brunch rituals every week in the city. Skip the $100 per person pre fix menu’s and head over to Chelsea’s own Tipsy Parsons for some belly filling goodness and a soulful neighborhood vibe. Their brunch menu alone offers everything from Avocado Toast to Shrimp and Grits, and Hot Fried Chicken and Waffles. Don’t worry, while you make that hard decision you can indulge in a specialty bourbon cocktail, like the Porch Swing Swizzle, topped with ginger beer.

If you're feeling really romantic and ready to go all out for this holiday, why not get some authentic italian food at In Vino? Executive Chef James Kelly has took the time out to create a San Valentino inspired menu just for you this Valentine's Day. The best part is this delicousness come for a steal of only $60 per person. For $30 more you get an impeccably paired wine tasting. Get your reservation in and enjoy!

If you’re spending the day with friends or lovers, what better way to end it than with homemade cocktails after you’ve conquered the city? Try making the Bourbon Kiss by Wild Turkey Bourbon for you and your company.
