Holiday Events this Month that involve Meat and are also great places to meet for a great Holiday get together!
1. Ted the Butcher--Whole Hog Butchery Demo
We had so much fun watching Ted Nigro (Ted the Butcher) cut up a whole hog at Brother Jimmy's recently. Our host and meat maven, Jimmy Carbone is a man on a mission to teach us about local food, chefs and beer and how to keep it all sustainable! I love that they love peasant food as much as I do--salvaging every part of the animal to reach delectable heights-- one pig snout at a time! (Remember: My Search for Pig Snout at Pig Island here!)
See our recent video with Ted the Butcher Chicken and Rock n' Roll here!
And stay tuned for his next Butchering demo dates here this Month!
2. Mastro's Steakhouse Takes Manhattan!
And by take, I mean we will go willingly. Everything about this place is grand- the space (two stories and 8,395 square feet ), the steak and the seafood-- as god intended-- or at least how they appear in my dreams. Perfectly done steak, colossal shrimp and alaskan crab and boasts a two-foot tall seafood tower! Does NYC need another steakhouse? Yes! There are never enough! Here you can hang at the M Bar for some great holiday drinks and some cool music every night- we had a great time!
